THERE IS NOTHING ECONOMY ABOUT THE LOCAL ECONOMY OF TEWKESBURY.

As new figures are released from the 2021 census we are taking a look at 7 magnificent stats from our immediate catchment.

◼ 38% of residents are in the Affluent Achiever Acorn classification (vs 22.7% UK average)

◼ 80% employment rate (vs UK average 70%)

◼ One of the fastest growing regions in the UK with a headcount increase of +16% since 2011 and +29.4% since 2002
*the biggest recent shift in age bands is growth within 25-34yr olds

◼ Highest average pay in the South West

◼ Economic activity rate of 82.5%

◼ Average incomes (after housing costs) £31.8k-£35.7k

◼ Strong visitor economy – home to Europe’s largest Medieval Festival, a 1200 vehicle classic car and bike show plus other big draw events delivering 1.5m day visitors and 700k staying – all contributing c£120m to local businesses.
